Christine Courtois, Ph.D., is co-founder and Clinical Director of The CENTER: Posttraumatic Disorders Program at the Psychiatric Institute of Washington, DC. Dr. Courtois has made significant contributions to the field of traumatic stress studies, especially with regard to the treatment of incest and sexual assault survivors. She has also helped develop principles and guidelines for work with issues of delayed memory of past trauma. She has authored numerous articles and books including Recollections of Sexual Abuse: Treatment Principles and Guidelines, Healing the Incest Wound: Adult Survivors in Therapy, and Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse: A Workshop Model. |
